The Nepal Capital Market Discourse 2026 is set to be inaugurated by Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) Chairman Dr. Gopal Bhatt on Bhadra 21 (September 6).

Organized by Banking Samachar with NAASA Securities as the main sponsor, the event will bring together regulators, market participants, policymakers and other stakeholders to discuss key issues facing Nepal’s capital market.

The program will begin at 12:00 PM on Sunday with an inauguration session, followed by four panel discussions. The event will include three thematic sessions focusing on policy and regulation, share literacy and technology, along with a special session.

The discussions will feature representatives from SEBON, merchant banking companies, securities brokers, CDS and Clearing Limited and other stakeholders involved in Nepal’s capital market.

Special Duologue with SEBON Chairman

One of the key attractions of the event will be a special duologue between Banking Samachar Managing Director Raju Dhungel and SEBON Chairman Dr. Gopal Bhatt.

The interaction will take place after the panel discussions and will provide Chairman Bhatt with an opportunity to present SEBON’s perspective on the major issues and concerns raised during the event.

The organizers said the Nepal Capital Market Discourse aims to promote discussion on capital market policy reforms, regulatory improvements, investor protection and financial literacy.

Representatives from the Ministry of Finance, SEBON, Nepal Rastra Bank, NEPSE, CDSC, broker companies, merchant banks, commercial banks, development banks, credit rating agencies and listed companies are expected to participate.

Members of the House of Representatives will also attend the event, alongside international delegates from the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) and the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).

The event is expected to provide a platform for market stakeholders to exchange views on the development of Nepal’s capital market and discuss potential reforms aimed at improving the regulatory framework, investor participation and market infrastructure.
