Nepal Government to Unveil Fiscal Year 2083/84 Budget Today
The Government of Nepal is set to present the annual budget for the fiscal year 2083/84 today during a joint session of the Federal Parliament, continuing the constitutional tradition of announcing the national budget on Jestha 15.
The annual budget for the upcoming fiscal year 2083/84 will be officially presented today, Friday, during a joint session of Nepal’s Federal Parliament. The joint meeting of the House of Representatives and the National Assembly has been scheduled for 4:00 PM on Jestha 15.
During Wednesday’s meeting of the House of Representatives, Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal requested all lawmakers from both parliamentary chambers to arrive at the Parliament building by 3:45 PM before the commencement of the joint session.
Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle is scheduled to deliver the budget speech and unveil the government’s revenue, expenditure, and policy priorities for the upcoming fiscal year.
Following the promulgation of Nepal’s Constitution, it has become a constitutional practice to present the annual national budget on Jestha 15 each year through a joint session of both houses of the Federal Parliament. The budget announcement also coincides with the celebration of Republic Day in Nepal.
