Nepal Rastra Bank to Collect Rs. 18 Billion Through 28-Day Deposit Instrument
Nepal Rastra Bank will collect Rs. 18 billion through a 28-day deposit collection instrument from eligible banks and financial institutions.

Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) is set to collect Rs. 18 billion through a 28-day deposit collection instrument on October 2, 2026 (Ashwin 16, 2083). The auction will be conducted through the Online Bidding System Software (OBSS) until 2:00 PM, with the interest rate determined through the bidding process. The principal and interest will be repaid on October 30, 2026 (Kartik 13, 2083).
Class “A,” “B,” and “C” banks and financial institutions licensed by NRB are eligible to participate in the auction. Each institution must submit a minimum bid of Rs. 100 million, with additional bids required to be in multiples of Rs. 100 million.
NRB will allocate the deposit starting with the lowest offered interest rate until the total target of Rs. 18 billion is reached. If bids at the same interest rate exceed the available amount, the allocation will be made on a pro-rata basis.
The deposit collected through this instrument cannot be counted toward the Cash Reserve Ratio (CRR). However, it can be counted toward the Statutory Liquidity Ratio (SLR) in accordance with NRB provisions.
