Nepal-Spain Business Forum 2026 Highlights Trade and Investment Opportunities

The Nepal-Spain Business Forum 2026, held in Madrid on Monday, highlighted the growing potential for trade and investment cooperation between Nepal and Spain.

Organized by the Embassy of Nepal in Madrid, the forum aimed to connect Spanish investors and businesses with Nepal’s public and private sectors to foster stronger economic partnerships.

Opening the event, Acting Ambassador Purak Adhikari emphasized the importance of enhancing bilateral trade relations and expanding cooperation in sectors with high growth potential. He also introduced participants to Nepal’s indigenous industries based on ethically sourced raw materials and traditional craftsmanship.

Nabin Raj Sharma, Executive Director of the Trade and Export Promotion Centre, presented trade statistics and highlighted opportunities for Nepali textile and garment products in the Spanish market.

Representatives from the Federation of Nepalese Export Entrepreneurs discussed the competitive advantages of products made from Chyangra wool, Himalayan sheep wool, hemp, and nettle fibers, as well as handcrafted jewelry and traditional ornaments that are gaining popularity in international niche markets.

Nepal Garment Association President Pashupati Dev Pandey highlighted recent improvements in Nepal’s garment industry, driven by legal and policy reforms, and stressed the importance of continued collaboration between businesses in both countries.

Luis Rodriguez, Deputy Director of International Relations at the Spanish Chamber of Commerce, noted that Spanish consumers are increasingly attracted to unique international products and expressed confidence that stronger business-to-business partnerships could further boost Nepal-Spain trade relations.

The forum concluded with networking and interactive discussion sessions involving representatives from Spain’s textile, jewelry, investment promotion, government, and media sectors.
