Nepal Stock Market Falls 16.47 Points as Turnover Exceeds Rs. 5.38 Billion
Nepse fell 16.47 points to 2,613.33 on Monday, while total turnover exceeded Rs. 5.38 billion amid declines in most sectors.
Nepal's stock market declined by double digits on Monday, the first trading day of the week. The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index fell 16.47 points to close at 2,613.33.
The market saw declines in 223 companies, while share prices of 50 companies increased. Six companies recorded no change in their share prices.
The Sensitive Index also declined by 1.34 points to 467.67. Of the 13 sectoral sub-indices, 12 closed lower while one recorded a gain.
Despite the decline in the index, market turnover remained above Rs. 5 billion. A total of 13.17 million shares of 357 companies were traded through 58,500 transactions during the session.
The total trading turnover stood at Rs. 5.385 billion. One company recorded a positive circuit during the day's trading session.
