Nepal Stock Market Falls Slightly, Turnover Exceeds Rs. 4.76 Billion
The NEPSE index declined 4.82 points to close at 2,598.89, while total trading turnover exceeded Rs. 4.76 billion.

Nepal’s stock market closed slightly lower on Wednesday, with the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index declining 4.82 points to 2,598.89.
A total of 126.52 million shares of 352 companies were traded during the session, generating turnover of Rs. 4.7644 billion.
Among the traded companies, share prices of 109 companies increased, while 157 declined. Shares of 13 companies remained unchanged.
At the sectoral level, the Hydropower, Mutual Fund and Trading sub-indices gained, while the other 10 sectoral indices declined.
Ghalemdi Hydro recorded the highest turnover of the day at Rs. 394.8 million, followed by Peoples Hydropower with turnover of Rs. 228.3 million.
Market participants said investor sentiment has not improved as expected despite various policy initiatives and the beginning of the dividend season. Share selling ahead of the festival season to manage expenses, along with the impact of recent floods and landslides, has also affected market activity.
