Nepal Telecom Warns Users Against Phishing SMS Impersonating ConnectIPS and Banks
Nepal Telecom has urged customers to stay alert against fraudulent SMS messages sent in the name of ConnectIPS, banks, and digital payment platforms.

Nepal Telecom has issued a public warning following reports of phishing SMS messages being circulated in the name of ConnectIPS, banks, and various digital payment service providers. According to the company, scammers are misusing SMS services to send deceptive messages claiming that users' accounts have been suspended, temporarily blocked, or affected by security issues.
These messages often encourage recipients to visit suspicious websites or click unknown links to resolve the alleged problems. Nepal Telecom has advised customers to exercise caution when receiving such SMS messages, phone calls, or links from unknown sources.
The company recommends verifying any account-related information through the official website or mobile application of the concerned institution before taking any action. Customers are also advised not to click on unfamiliar links and never share confidential information such as OTP codes, passwords, PIN numbers, or CVV details with anyone.
Nepal Telecom emphasized that cyber fraud attempts are becoming increasingly sophisticated and urged users to protect their personal and financial information by relying only on official communication channels for banking and digital payment services.
