Nepalgunj Land Revenue Office Collects Rs. 74.86 Crore in FY 2082/83
The Land Revenue Office in Nepalgunj collected Rs. 74.86 crore in revenue during FY 2082/83, with capital gains tax and registration fees accounting for most of the collections.
The Land Revenue Office in Nepalgunj, Banke, collected Rs. 74 crore 86 lakh in revenue during FY 2082/83, despite operating from a temporary rented building after its original premises and documents were destroyed in an arson attack during a Gen-Z protest on September 9, 2025.
According to Office Chief Santosh BK, capital gains tax was the largest source of revenue, generating Rs. 37 crore 40 lakh during the fiscal year. Registration fees contributed Rs. 36 crore 90 lakh, while service and administrative charges generated Rs. 54.23 lakh.
The remaining revenue came from smaller sources, including form sales, judicial fees, fines and security deposits.
Despite operating from temporary premises, the office continued handling property transfers, land ownership registrations and other land-related legal updates.
Officials also restored land ownership certificate records for 31,189 affected landowners following the destruction of the original records.
Office Chief BK said services have continued to operate normally, although occasional delays occur due to problems with the department's online system.
