Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal has said that the government plans to engage the Nepali diaspora as an important partner in Nepal’s economic transformation.

Speaking at an event organized in New York by non-resident Nepalis (NRNs) and various Nepali diaspora organizations in the United States, Khanal outlined the government’s policies and priorities concerning the Nepali diaspora.

According to the minister’s secretariat, the government aims to utilize the knowledge, skills, capital, technology and global networks of the Nepali diaspora to support Nepal’s economic development and transformation.

The government’s approach focuses on connecting the experience, resources and expertise of Nepalis living abroad with Nepal’s development process, with the broader objective of supporting investment and economic activities in the country
