Nepal’s Stock Market Slide Continues as NEPSE and Turnover Decline
NEPSE fell 20.48 points to 2,566.76 on Monday, while daily trading turnover declined to Rs. 3.28 billion as the market continued its downward trend.

Nepal’s stock market continued its decline on Monday, the first trading day of the week. The downward trend seen over the past few sessions persisted as the NEPSE index fell 20.48 points to 2,566.76.
The Sensitive Index declined by 3.23 points, while the Float Index and Sensitive Float Index dropped by 1.47 points and 1.13 points, respectively.
Only one of the 13 sub-indices posted a gain, with the Trading sub-index recording a marginal increase. The Finance sub-index recorded the biggest decline, falling 1.10%. Hotel & Tourism, Hydropower and Investment sub-indices also declined by more than 1%.
Trading turnover also decreased alongside the market index. After recording turnover of Rs. 4.29 billion on Friday, the market recorded Rs. 3.28 billion in turnover on Monday. A total of 359 stocks were traded through 44,777 transactions.
Ghalemdi Hydro recorded the highest turnover at Rs. 228.6 million. Hathaway Investment recorded transactions worth Rs. 84.9 million, while Shivam Cement recorded more than Rs. 84.3 million in turnover.
Most of the top 10 traded securities were debentures. The 10.30% Standard Chartered Bank Debenture gained 5.75%, while the 10% Nepal SBI Bank Debenture 2086 and Global IME Samunnat Yojana-2 gained around 5%.
