NEPSE declined by 4.64 points on Tuesday to close below the 2,700 mark as daily turnover dropped 27% to Rs. 4.42 billion.

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) extended its losses on Tuesday, falling 4.64 points to close at 2,696.67, slipping below the key 2,700-point level.

A total of 10.42 million shares of 342 listed companies were traded through 55,553 transactions, generating a daily turnover of Rs. 4.42 billion. Compared to Monday, turnover declined by 27.19%, while traded share volume dropped by 25.16%.

Among the traded companies, 99 advanced, 165 declined, and 13 remained unchanged, reflecting a broadly negative market sentiment.

Sector-wise, the Finance, Hotels & Tourism, Hydropower, and Trading indices posted modest gains. However, indices for Commercial Banks, Development Banks, Investment, Life Insurance, Manufacturing & Processing, Microfinance, Mutual Funds, Non-Life Insurance, and Others closed lower, with the Others sub-index recording the steepest decline of 0.80%.

Top gainers included Everest Color Limited, Laxmi Unnati Fund, Garima Samriddhi Yojana, Yambaling Hydropower Limited, and Citizen Super 30 Mutual Fund.

On the losing side, Kutheli Bukhari Small Hydropower, Samriddhi Equity Fund, Mega Mutual Fund, Dhaulagiri Laghubitta, and RBB Focus-40 posted the biggest declines.

In terms of turnover, Central Finance Limited led the market with transactions worth more than Rs. 271.4 million.
