NEPSE Drops by 34.63 Points as Turnover Exceeds NPR 4.26 Billion; Broad Market Decline Observed

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) witnessed a notable decline in today’s trading session as the benchmark index dropped by 34.63 points to close at 2704.08.

Despite the fall in the index, total market turnover remained strong, exceeding NPR 4.26 billion. A total of 341 companies were traded, with over 1.74 million shares changing hands during the session.

Out of 13 sub-indices, only one managed to close in positive territory, while the rest recorded losses, indicating broad-based selling pressure across the market.

In terms of turnover, NRNA emerged as the most actively traded stock of the day.

Even though the overall market declined, 27 companies managed to post gains. The top gainers included Forward Microfinance, Jhapa Energy, Guardian Micro Life Insurance, Aarambha Chautari Laghubitta, and Taragaon Regency.

On the losing side, 240 companies saw their share prices decline. The major losers included Corporate Development Bank, Mai Khola, Narayani Development Bank, Salpa Development Bank, and Srinagar Agritech.

Overall, the market remained under selling pressure throughout the session, leading to a significant drop in the NEPSE index.
