NEPSE Drops Near 2,600 as Selling Pressure Continues; Daily Turnover Climbs 22%

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) continued its downward trend on Tuesday, falling 24.63 points (0.94%) to close at 2,608.33. The decline brought the benchmark index closer to the psychological 2,600-point level as selling pressure remained dominant across the market.

A total of 365 listed companies were traded during the session. Share prices of only 35 companies advanced, while 235 companies recorded losses, highlighting broad-based weakness in investor sentiment.

Despite the market decline, trading activity improved significantly. Investors traded 8.73 million shares worth approximately Rs. 3.25 billion, representing a 22% increase in turnover compared to Monday.

All sectoral indices ended the day in negative territory. The Trading sector posted the steepest decline, falling 1.74%, making it the worst-performing sector of the day.

Among the top gainers were Snow Rivers Limited, Corporate Development Bank, and Swabhiman Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha. On the losing side, shareholders of Taksar Pikhuwakhola Hydropower Limited, Yambaling Hydropower, and Sopan Pharmaceuticals Limited suffered the largest declines.
