NEPSE Ends the Week on a Positive Note, Index Gains 27.94 Points

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index gained 27.94 points on Friday, the final trading day of the week, closing the week on a positive note after a volatile trading session.

The market was open for trading on five days during the week. The index gained on three trading days while declining by double digits on two days.

On Friday, shares of 345 companies were traded. Around 12 million shares changed hands through approximately 49,000 transactions, generating a total turnover of Rs. 4.36 billion.

Among the companies traded during the session, share prices of 238 companies increased, while 30 companies recorded declines.

Upakar Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha shareholders posted the highest gain of 10.53 percent. Similarly, investors in Abhiyan Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha gained 10 percent, while shareholders of Sindhu Bikash Bank gained 9.54 percent.

Despite the nearly 28-point rise in the overall market, shareholders of Multipurpose Finance Company lost 5.71 percent. Emerging Nepal Limited also declined by 4.21 percent.

Overall, the strong gain on the final trading day helped NEPSE conclude a volatile trading week on a positive note.
