The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) Index continued its upward trend on Tuesday, rising 7.25 points to close at 2,726.49. While the strong momentum triggered by Prime Minister Balendra Shah's assurances on capital market reforms moderated, the market remained in positive territory.

A total of 343 listed companies were traded during the session. Share prices of 103 companies advanced, while 162 companies declined and 12 companies remained unchanged.

Investors traded 14.92 million shares worth approximately Rs 6.67 billion, representing a 21% increase in turnover compared to Monday's session, indicating continued investor participation despite slower price gains.

Sector-wise, the commercial banking, investment, manufacturing & processing, trading, and others indices posted gains. Meanwhile, the development bank, finance, hotel & tourism, hydropower, life insurance, microfinance, mutual fund, and non-life insurance sectors closed lower.

Among individual stocks, Everest Color Limited, Kalanga Hydropower, and Bottlers (Balaju) Nepal emerged as the top gainers of the day.

On the losing side, Nabil Bank Debenture, NIBL Growth Fund, and Corporate Development Bank recorded the sharpest declines.

Market participants are now closely watching upcoming policy decisions from the government and financial regulators, which are expected to influence investor sentiment and the market's short-term direction.
