NEPSE Falls 19 Points, Turnover Declines to Rs 5.07 Billion

The Nepal stock market continued its downward trend on Tuesday, the second trading session of the week. The NEPSE index declined by 19.34 points to close at 2,622.48, following a 2.25-point decline on Monday.

A total of 217 companies recorded losses, while 57 companies gained and five remained unchanged. Investors traded 15.19 million shares during the session.

12 of 13 Sub-Indices Decline

Of the 13 sectoral sub-indices, 12 declined while only one advanced. The Manufacturing and Processing sub-index recorded the biggest decline, falling 1.40%.

Market turnover also contracted alongside the NEPSE index. Total turnover stood at Rs 5.073 billion, compared with Rs 5.525 billion on Monday.

Agriculture Bond Leads Turnover

Agriculture Bond recorded the highest transaction value on Tuesday, with turnover of Rs 506.8 million.

It was followed by Solu Hydropower, which recorded Rs 391.4 million in transactions, while Khanikhola Hydropower recorded Rs 252.6 million.

Sarbottam Paints Hits Positive Circuit

Sarbottam Paints investors recorded the highest gain of the session, with the stock rising 14.99% to hit the positive circuit limit.

Mount Everest gained 14.98%, while Manakamana Engineering advanced 4.78%.

On the losing side, Sagarmatha Hydropower recorded the biggest decline, with its share price falling 10.63%.
