NEPSE Falls 37 Points; Production and Processing Sector Leads Decline as 246 Companies Lose Value
Nepal’s stock market declined on Monday, with the NEPSE index falling 37.69 points to 2,696.91.

Nepal’s stock market witnessed a decline on Monday, the first trading day of the week. The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index fell by 37.69 points and closed at 2,696.91 points.
Along with the decline in the index, the total trading volume also decreased compared to the previous session.
A total of 359 companies traded 13.5 million shares, with the total turnover reaching Rs 5.90 billion.
In the previous trading session on Friday, 353 companies traded 13.68 million shares, with a total turnover of Rs 6.26 billion.
Most sectoral indices ended in negative territory today. All sub-indices except mutual funds declined during the session.
The production and processing sector recorded the biggest fall, declining by 2.55%. Meanwhile, the mutual fund sector gained 0.14%.
Among the traded companies, share prices of 25 companies increased, while 246 companies declined. The share prices of 4 companies remained unchanged.
The market came under pressure as increased selling activity among investors weighed on the overall NEPSE index.
