NEPSE Falls Below 2,700 Level as Trading Volume Declines
Nepal’s NEPSE index dropped by over 26 points on Tuesday, closing at 2,674 points, while trading volume also declined to Rs 4.36 billion.

Nepal’s stock market closed lower on the first trading day of the week, with the NEPSE index falling below the 2,700 mark after trading near that level in recent sessions.
On Tuesday, the NEPSE index declined by 26.16 points to close at 2,674.48 points. The Sensitive Index also fell by 2.31 points, while the Float Index and Sensitive Float Index dropped by 1.63 and 0.89 points respectively.
Trading activity also weakened compared to the previous session. On Monday, the market had recorded Rs 4.44 billion in turnover, while Tuesday’s trading stood at Rs 4.36 billion across 353 listed stocks and over 72,000 transactions.
Taksar Pikhuwa Hydropower and Yambaling Hydropower shares hit positive circuit levels during the session. However, most stocks declined, with Bungul Hydropower falling by 15% and Apollo Hydropower dropping by over 11%.
In terms of turnover, Ankhu Khola Hydropower Company led the market, followed by Sopaan Pharmaceuticals and Reliance Spinning Mills.
Out of 13 sub-indices, only the mutual fund index posted a slight gain, while the remaining 12 sectors declined. The production and processing sub-index recorded the steepest fall of 1.92%.
