NEPSE Gains 11.96 Points, Trading Turnover Limited to Rs. 3.13 Billion

Nepal’s stock market posted a modest recovery on Tuesday, the second trading session of the week. After declining for the previous two sessions, the NEPSE index gained 11.96 points to close at 2,578.73.

The Sensitive Index increased by 2 points, while the Float Index and Sensitive Float Index rose by 0.82 points and 0.75 points, respectively.

Of the 13 sub-indices traded on Tuesday, 11 posted gains while two declined, indicating broad-based improvement across most sectors.

Despite the rise in the NEPSE index, trading turnover declined from the previous session. After recording turnover of around Rs. 3.27 billion on Monday, the market recorded Rs. 3.138 billion in turnover on Tuesday.

Ghalemdi Hydro continued to lead turnover, with shares worth Rs. 239.1 million changing hands. Liberty Energy recorded nearly Rs. 140 million in turnover, while Himal Dolakha Hydropower recorded more than Rs. 95 million.

Trishuli Hydropower Company recorded the highest gain among the highlighted stocks, with its share price rising 5.11%. Most other advancing stocks gained less than 4%. Meanwhile, Sarbottam Paints declined by around 5%.
