NEPSE Gains 7.50 Points, Daily Turnover Crosses Rs 4.52 Billion

Nepal’s stock market closed slightly higher on Thursday, with the NEPSE index gaining 7.50 points to settle at 2,597 points.

Although the benchmark index moved upward, market breadth remained mixed. Out of 371 companies traded during the session, share prices of 121 companies increased, while 151 companies declined.

A total of 9.46 million shares were traded throughout the day, generating a turnover of more than Rs 4.52 billion.

Singati Hydro Energy Limited recorded the highest trading volume, with shares worth Rs 247.4 million changing hands. Sanima Debenture followed with a turnover of around Rs 230 million, while NRN Infrastructure and Development Limited recorded transactions worth Rs 227.9 million.

Among the top gainers, NIBL Growth Fund unit holders recorded the highest return, gaining 14.96%. First Microfinance investors gained 14.67%, while Chirkhwa Hydropower investors saw a rise of 14.34%.

On the losing side, Corporate Development Bank investors faced the biggest decline, with the company’s share price falling by 8.77%.

The market showed a moderate recovery despite mixed investor sentiment, with trading activity focused on hydropower, banking, and other listed sectors.
