The Nepal Stock Exchange index recorded a modest gain today, rising by 7.73 points to close at 2,796.43. The market experienced fluctuations throughout the trading session before ending in positive territory.

A total of 109.28 lakh shares of 351 companies were traded through 81,006 transactions, generating a turnover of over Rs. 4.74 Arba.

Sector-wise, most indices closed in the green, while a few recorded minor losses. Hydropower, Investment, Mutual Fund, Trading, and Others sectors declined slightly. Meanwhile, Banking, Development Bank, Finance, Hotels & Tourism, Life Insurance, Manufacturing & Processing, Microfinance, and Non-life Insurance sectors posted gains.

Among individual stocks, Corporate Development Bank Limited, Palpa Cement Industries Limited, and Shikhar Power Development Limited hit the positive circuit limit.

On the downside, NIFRA Green Energy Debenture recorded the highest loss, dropping by 14.01%.

Overall, the market showed a slight recovery, although investor sentiment remained mixed.
