NEPSE Jumps 33 Points on First Trading Day of New Fiscal Year 2083
Nepal’s stock market surged by 33.27 points on the first trading day of 2083 BS, with all sector indices ending in the green.

The Nepal Stock Exchange index recorded a strong gain on the first trading day of the Nepali New Year 2083, rising by 33.27 points (1.17%) to close at 2,866.87.
According to NEPSE, a total of 26.4 million shares of 344 companies were traded in 123,359 transactions, generating a turnover of approximately Rs. 10.53 billion.
All sector indices ended higher in today’s session. The hotel and tourism sector led the gains with a rise of 3.16%, followed by hydropower (2.14%), development banks (1.53%), and banking (1.30%). Other sectors, including finance, investment, microfinance, life insurance, non-life insurance, and mutual funds, also posted moderate gains.
NEPSE reported that the share prices of six companies hit the positive circuit limit during the trading session, reflecting strong investor sentiment at the start of the new year.
