The NEPSE index fell by nearly 39 points to settle at the 2,744 level. Most listed companies saw their share prices decline, putting overall market turnover under pressure.

NEPSE Plunges: Index Drops Nearly 40 Points, Falls to 2,744 Level

The NEPSE index declined by 39.44 points, settling at 2,744.40, marking a drop of 1.41% in today’s trading session.

Similarly, the Sensitive Index, which tracks large-cap companies, fell by 5.15 points to reach 469.26.

A total of 10.67 million shares worth NPR 4.66 billion were traded during the day.

Based on trading volume, companies such as National Hydro Power, Reliance Spinning Mills, Ridi Power Company, Shivam Cement, and AY Panel Limited were among the most active stocks.

In terms of gains, Dhaulagiri Laghubitta, SBL Debenture, NIBL Samriddhi Fund, NIC Asia Debenture, and Nepal SBI Bank Debenture performed positively.

On the losing side, First Microfinance Laghubitta, Kumari Dhanbriddhi Yojana, Jhapa Energy, Atmanirbhar Laghubitta, and Heart Forest Investment recorded declines.

Out of 269 listed companies, only 13 gained, 251 declined, and 5 remained unchanged, reflecting a bearish market sentiment.
