NEPSE Rises 14 Points as Trading Turnover Drops by 51%

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index advanced 14 points on Wednesday, closing at 2,590.29. Shares of 362 listed companies were traded during the session, with 191 stocks gaining, 64 declining, and the remaining closing unchanged.

A total of 84.69 million shares worth Rs 4.16 billion changed hands, representing a 51% decline in turnover compared to Tuesday. The investment sector was the only declining group, while the mutual fund index remained unchanged and all other sectoral indices ended in positive territory. The Development Bank index posted the highest gain of 1.37%. Investors in NMB Debenture, Narayani Development Bank, and Three Star Hydropower recorded the biggest gains, while holders of Upakar Laghubitta, NIBL Stable Fund, and NIC Asia Select Fund suffered the largest losses.
