NEPSE Rises for Second Straight Day, Turnover Hits NPR 3.28 Billion

On the final trading day of the week, the NEPSE index increased by 27.49 points, closing at 2745.65. The market extended its positive momentum for a second consecutive session following Thursday’s gain.

The Sensitive Index rose by 3.24 points, while the Float Index and Sensitive Float Index gained 1.88 and 1.24 points respectively.

Market turnover also improved significantly. After NPR 2.93 billion on Thursday, total turnover reached over NPR 3.28 billion on Friday. A total of 335 listed stocks were traded through more than 53,000 transactions, exchanging over 7.4 million shares.

Trishuli Hydropower Company led the gainers with a 10% rise in its share price. Hotel Forest Inn rose by around 8%, while Suryakund Hydro Electric gained over 6%. On the losing side, Swabalamban Laghubitta fell by 6.54%, marking the steepest decline of the day.

In terms of turnover, Hotel Forest Inn topped the list with over NPR 138.6 million worth of shares traded. Reliance Spinning Mills and Solu Hydropower also recorded strong trading volumes.

Out of 13 sub-indices, 12 closed in the green while one remained unchanged. The Finance sub-index led the gains with a rise of 1.87%, followed by Hotels & Tourism, Hydropower, Investment, Manufacturing & Processing, Non-Life Insurance, and Others, each gaining over 1%.
