The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index gained 7 points on Tuesday to reach 2,654.28 points.

A total of 215.8 million shares of 356 companies, including securities and debentures, were traded during the session.

Trading had been halted the previous day after a problem occurred at the data center of a brokerage company. Trading resumed on Tuesday.

The report also states that the revised provision related to the increased single capital gains tax introduced through the government budget came into implementation from Tuesday.

Among the companies recording the highest gains, Mid Solu Hydropower, First Microfinance Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha, Mailung Khola Hydropower and Mandu Hydropower saw their share prices increase between 5.43% and 14.99%.

In terms of trading turnover, Hathway Investment Nepal, Himalayan Distillery, Ghalemdi Hydro and Liberty Energy Company were among the most actively traded companies, with turnover ranging from Rs 199.9 million to Rs 444 million.

Meanwhile, share prices of Snow River Limited, Narayani Development Bank, Bottlers Nepal (Balaju) and Infinity Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha declined between 5.64% and 8.23%.

Of the 13 sectoral indices traded on the day, seven indices increased while the remaining indices declined.
