NEPSE Slips 0.26 Points as Market Turnover Falls to Rs 3.29 Billion

Nepal’s stock market continued its downward movement on Wednesday, with the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index declining 0.26 points to close at 2,622.22.

Despite the overall decline, several sub-indices ended in positive territory. Banking, hydropower, non-life insurance, other and trading sectors recorded gains, while most of the remaining sectors closed lower.

A total of 95,08,882 shares of 346 listed companies changed hands during the session. The total trading turnover stood at Rs 3.298 billion.

Top Gainers

Mount Everest Power recorded the highest gain of the day, with its share price rising 14.99%. Sarbottam Paints followed with a gain of 14.98%.

Top Loser

Manakamana Engineering was the biggest loser of the session, with its share price declining 8.45%.

Sahas Urja Leads Turnover

Sahas Urja recorded the highest turnover among individual companies. Shares worth more than Rs 175.28 million were traded in the company.

The market had already declined 2.25 points on Monday, when turnover stood at more than Rs 5.52 billion. On Tuesday, NEPSE fell another 19.34 points while turnover reached more than Rs 5.07 billion. Wednesday's session therefore saw both the market index and overall trading turnover weaken further.
