NEPSE Slips Slightly as 185 Stocks Decline Despite Rs. 3.77 Billion Turnover
The NEPSE index edged down by 4.05 points to close at 2,650.13 on the week's final trading day.
The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) ended slightly lower on the final trading day of the week, with the benchmark index falling 4.05 points to close at 2,650.13.
A total of 334 listed companies traded 10.31 million shares, generating a turnover of more than Rs. 3.77 billion. Share prices of 84 companies advanced, while 185 companies declined, reflecting a broadly negative market sentiment.
In terms of turnover, Solu Hydropower topped the market with transactions worth approximately Rs. 392.5 million. It was followed by Ridi Power with around Rs. 230.2 million and Sanima Bank with more than Rs. 170.8 million in traded value.
Among the gainers, Atmanirbhar Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha posted the highest increase of 8.54%. Units of HLI Large Cap Fund gained 5.18%, while NIC Asia Balanced Fund rose 5.16%.
On the losing side, Upper Lohore Khola Hydropower recorded the steepest decline of 6.93%. Although the benchmark index slipped modestly, strong trading turnover indicated that investor participation remained active.
