NEPSE to Open Secondary Market Trading on Fridays
NEPSE to Open Secondary Market Trading on Fridays

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) has officially decided to open the secondary market for trading on Fridays, shifting its operation to a full Monday-to-Friday schedule.
This move comes after the government implemented a two-day weekend (Saturday and Sunday) policy to reduce national fuel consumption. With Sunday now being a public holiday, opening the market on Friday ensures that investors still get a complete five-day trading cycle.
In addition to the trading schedule update, the NEPSE Board of Directors has also approved amendments to the working procedures for stock dealers. These changes aim to simplify operational processes, improve efficiency, and support smoother participation from institutional investors.
The updated procedures are expected to enhance market liquidity and create a more business-friendly environment for brokers and dealers.
NEPSE has directed all concerned technical departments and related agencies to update their systems promptly to accommodate Friday trading and the revised regulatory framework.
