Dr. Gopal Prasad Bhatt has officially assumed office as the new Chairman of the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) after taking the oath of office and secrecy, ten days following his appointment.
The oath ceremony was administered by Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle at the Ministry of Finance on Monday. During the ceremony, the Finance Minister emphasized the need to strengthen Nepal's capital market through transparent regulation, effective governance, and investor-friendly policies.
Minister Wagle instructed the newly appointed chairman to prioritize the protection of investors' interests, improve regulatory efficiency, and enhance public confidence in the country's securities market. He also stressed the importance of accelerating reforms that promote sustainable growth and good governance in the financial sector.
Chairman Bhatt expressed his commitment to working independently, transparently, and professionally to strengthen SEBON's regulatory role and support the long-term development of Nepal's capital market. He pledged to focus on improving market integrity, investor confidence, and institutional effectiveness.
