Oli and Ramesh Lekhak to Be Released on Bail Following Supreme Court Order
Following a Supreme Court order, KP Sharma Oli and Ramesh Lekhak are set to be released on bail.

KP Sharma Oli and Ramesh Lekhak are set to be released on bail following an order from the Supreme Court of Nepal.
According to officials at the Kathmandu District Police Range, the decision was made with the consent of the public prosecutor to release them on the condition that they appear whenever summoned.
They were arrested on Chait 14 based on the recommendation of a commission led by Gauri Bahadur Karki, which was formed to investigate incidents that occurred on Bhadau 23 and 24.
While hearing a habeas corpus petition, the Supreme Court issued a mandamus order on Chait 23, instructing authorities not to grant a fourth remand extension and to release them if the investigation was not completed within the existing timeframe.
The bench of Justices Binod Sharma and Sunil Kumar Pokharel ordered their release after Chait 25.
Authorities confirmed that investigations will continue even after their release. At the time of the incident, Oli was serving as Prime Minister and Lekhak as Home Minister, during which fatalities occurred amid the Gen-Z protests in Baneshwor, Kathmandu.
Due to health concerns, Oli had been kept at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, while Lekhak was detained at the Armed Police Force barracks in Maharajgunj.
