Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police took action against 2,157 traffic rule violators over the past 24 hours, generating more than Rs. 2.14 million in government revenue.

Over 2,150 Motorists Penalized in Kathmandu Valley in 24 Hours, Rs. 2.14 Million Collected in Fines

The Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office has penalized 2,157 motorists for violating traffic rules over the past 24 hours, collecting Rs. 2,140,546 in government revenue through fines.

According to the traffic police, 82 drivers were booked for driving under the influence of alcohol, while 101 motorists were penalized for operating ride-sharing services in violation of existing regulations.

Similarly, 105 drivers were fined for running red lights, and 117 motorists faced action for overspeeding.

Traffic police also took action against 77 drivers for violating lane discipline, 61 for unnecessary use of horns in prohibited areas, 22 for operating vehicles with illegal tinted windows, and 54 for driving on one-way roads.

In addition, 1,538 motorists were penalized for various other traffic rule violations as part.
