Parliament Session Adjourned After Dispute Between UML MP Rajendra Rai and Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal

A session of Nepal's House of Representatives was adjourned for 15 minutes following a dispute between CPN-UML lawmaker Rajendra Rai and Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal.

During the parliamentary proceedings, Rai questioned the Speaker by asking, "Can you hear or not?" Shortly afterward, Speaker Aryal instructed him to take his seat and proceeded to give speaking time to another lawmaker, Parshuram Tamang.

The incident drew objections from Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) lawmaker Tika Sangraula, who demanded that Rai's remarks be removed from the parliamentary record. She argued that such comments were inappropriate for the dignity of Parliament and should not remain on record.

The Speaker then allowed Rai to clarify his statement. In response, Rai claimed that he had been prevented from completing his remarks and accused the Speaker of interrupting him without listening to his concerns. He also criticized the Speaker's handling of the House and questioned his ability to effectively lead parliamentary proceedings.

As tensions escalated inside the chamber, Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal adjourned the House session for 15 minutes to restore order.
