Police Personnel to Receive Salaries Every 15 Days Under New Semi-Monthly Payment System
The Government of Nepal will introduce a semi-monthly salary payment system for police personnel from fiscal year 2083/84, allowing employees to receive salaries every 15 days.

The Government of Nepal has decided to implement a semi-monthly salary payment system for Nepal Police personnel starting from the upcoming fiscal year 2083/84.
The Administration Department (Budget Section) of Nepal Police Headquarters issued a circular on Tuesday directing budget-operating offices nationwide to implement the new arrangement in accordance with a decision of the Ministry of Finance and a directive from the Office of the Financial Comptroller General.
According to the circular, the new system will replace the traditional monthly salary payment method with a semi-monthly approach, under which civil servants will receive salary and allowances after every 15-day period.
The change is expected to improve employees' cash flow management and provide more regular access to income throughout the month.
Nepal Police Headquarters has instructed all concerned offices to make the necessary administrative and financial preparations for the implementation of the system from the next fiscal year.
The Welfare Directorate of Nepal Police has also been directed to update relevant financial and operational systems in line with the new payment structure.
The government believes the semi-monthly salary model will enhance efficiency, transparency and financial management across public sector institutions.
