Power Restored in 90% of Nuwakot
Electricity supply has been restored in around 90% of Nuwakot following damage caused by the Rasuwa flood with 31 additional transformers brought back into operation.
Electricity supply has been restored in around 90% of Nuwakot following disruptions caused by the devastating Bhotekoshi flood in neighboring Rasuwa.
The Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation said electricity has resumed across most parts of the district after the Chapali–Devighat right circuit was charged, improving both coverage and voltage reliability.
Power has now been restored in several areas, including Ward 6 and parts of Ward 3 of Bidur Municipality, multiple wards of Tarkeshwar Municipality, and Ward 7 of Belkotgadhi Municipality.
The ministry said an additional 31 transformers have also been charged, helping expand electricity access and stabilize supply across affected areas.
However, restoration work remains ongoing in several locations, including Ward 12 of Bidur Municipality, the remaining section of Ward 3, Kispang Rural Municipality, Ward 8 of Belkotgadhi Municipality and Ward 10 of Bidur Municipality.
The flood damaged electricity infrastructure in the region, disrupting power supply across Nuwakot. Authorities have continued repair and restoration work to reconnect the remaining affected areas.
The latest progress means most of Nuwakot has now returned to the electricity grid, although full restoration will depend on the completion of repairs to damaged power infrastructure.
