Power Supply Disruption in Parts of Kathmandu for Three Days Due to Transmission Line Upgrade

The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has announced scheduled power interruptions in several parts of Kathmandu for three consecutive days as part of an ongoing transmission line upgrade project.

According to the NEA's Project Management Directorate, the work involves replacing old conductors on the 132 kV transmission line connecting the Sphuchatar Substation and the Matatirtha Substation under the 132 kV Transmission Conductor Upgrading Project.

To carry out the maintenance work, electricity supply will be suspended on Jestha 29, 30, and 31 (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) from 9:30 AM to 1:00 PM in areas served by the Thankot and Satungal feeders under the Kuleshwor Distribution Center.

Areas affected under the Thankot feeder include Chandragiri Municipality Ward No. 14 office vicinity, Balakumari Temple, Armed Police Force Office, CG area, Old Naikap, Balambu, Chundevi, Khahare, Dahachok, Dhungedhara, Bright Future area, Baichhap, Yatayat area, Daura Depot, High Vision Colony, Pashu Bikash area, and Srijana Chowk.

Similarly, power supply will also be interrupted in areas around Dhaulagiri Gate, Sinchaphant, and Shiv Mandir under the Satungal feeder.

The NEA stated that the schedule may be adjusted if weather conditions become unfavorable. The authority has apologized for the inconvenience and assured consumers that efforts will be made to complete the work within the scheduled timeframe.
