Production and Sale of 7UP Suspended After Foreign Contaminant Found
Nepal's food regulator has halted the production and sale of a 7UP batch manufactured by Varun Beverages Nepal.

The Department of Food Technology and Quality Control (DFTQC) has ordered an immediate suspension of the production and sale of a batch of 7UP manufactured by Varun Beverages Nepal after an inedible foreign contaminant was discovered inside a 250ml bottle. The action followed a consumer complaint and a joint inspection conducted by the department along with other government agencies.
According to the department, the affected product belongs to Batch No. B006 with the production date 16 April 2026. Samples from the batch have been sent for laboratory testing, and the department has prohibited further production and distribution until further notice. Officials said legal action is being taken under the Food Hygiene and Quality Act, 2024 (2081 BS).
