Prosperity Impossible Without Respect for Workers: KP Sharma Oli
CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli has emphasized that a prosperous society cannot be built without ensuring respect and rights for workers.

KP Sharma Oli stated that only a society that respects workers can achieve true prosperity. Extending his message on the occasion of International Labour Day, he highlighted that May 1 represents the global struggle for the dignity, value, and rights of labor.
Oli noted that Nepal’s Constitution envisions a balanced relationship between workers and employers to build a just society. He recalled that during his tenure, the government promoted tripartite cooperation among workers, employers, and the state, and introduced contribution-based social security programs.
He further stressed that protecting human dignity and ensuring workers' safety and respect require strong guarantees of labor rights worldwide. According to him, policies, dialogue, and cooperation were used to strengthen harmonious relations between labor and employers.
Oli added that industrial growth, job creation, worker protection, fair profit distribution, and overall national prosperity were key priorities. He emphasized that the state should not deviate from the constitutional path set for inclusive development.
