Rain Likely Across Nepal Today; Heavy Rainfall Warning Issued for Several Areas
Monsoon conditions are expected to bring widespread rainfall across Nepal today.

Monsoon activity remains active across Nepal, with widespread rainfall expected throughout the country today, according to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.
The department stated that the monsoon trough is positioned slightly north of its normal location in western Nepal and near its average position in the eastern region, creating favorable conditions for rainfall across many parts of the country.
Currently, the weather is generally cloudy nationwide. Light to moderate rainfall is occurring in parts of the hilly regions of Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, as well as isolated areas of Koshi, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces.
During the day, most hilly regions and some areas of the Terai in Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpashchim provinces are likely to experience moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning. Isolated locations in the Terai of Koshi and Madhesh provinces may also receive rainfall. Snowfall is also possible in some high Himalayan areas.
The department has warned of heavy rainfall at isolated locations in the hilly regions and Himalayan districts of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces, as well as parts of the Terai in Lumbini Province.
Similar weather conditions are expected to continue tonight, with rain and thunderstorms forecast in several parts of the country. Heavy rainfall may increase the risk of floods, landslides, debris flow, and soil erosion, potentially affecting transportation, agriculture, tourism, mountaineering, and daily life.
Residents in vulnerable areas have been advised to remain alert and follow weather updates before traveling or carrying out outdoor activities.
