Portugal produced a commanding performance to defeat Uzbekistan 5-0 in their second Group K match of the FIFA World Cup campaign.

Captain Cristiano Ronaldo starred for Portugal, scoring two goals and leading his side to a comfortable victory. He opened the scoring in the sixth minute by converting a corner delivery to give Portugal an early advantage.

Nuno Mendes doubled Portugal’s lead in the 17th minute, putting the European side firmly in control of the match. Ronaldo then added his second goal in the 39th minute, sending Portugal into halftime with a 3-0 lead.

Portugal maintained their dominance after the break. An own goal by Abdvohid Nematov in the 60th minute further extended the lead before Rafael Leão completed the scoring in the 87th minute.

The convincing victory moves Portugal to the top of Group K with four points from two matches. Portugal had drawn their opening group-stage match against Congo.

Meanwhile, Uzbekistan suffered its second consecutive defeat and remains at the bottom of the group standings without a point.
