Nepal's Inland Revenue Department has announced the first winners of its taxpayer incentive program.

Nepal's Inland Revenue Department has announced the first round of winners under its Taxpayer Incentive Program, launched to encourage consumers to request VAT and PAN bills for purchases.
Under the program, a consumer who registered a valid bill for a purchase worth Rs. 250 won the bumper cash prize of Rs. 1 million. In addition, 15 consumers received Rs. 100,000 each as part of the first 15-day reward cycle.
The incentive scheme was introduced through the fiscal year 2083/84 budget and came into effect from Shrawan 1. Consumers who obtain eligible PAN or VAT bills and register them through the designated system become eligible for periodic cash prize draws.
The Inland Revenue Department has urged consumers to always request VAT or PAN bills while making purchases and register eligible bills to participate in the reward program. The initiative aims to strengthen tax compliance, promote proper billing practices, and improve transparency in Nepal's tax system
