Sanima Reliance Life’s Profit Rises 1.69%

Sanima Reliance Life Insurance Company Limited reported a net profit of Rs. 38.38 crore in the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2082/83, up 1.69% from Rs. 37.74 crore recorded in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year.

The insurer’s net earned premium increased 16.17%, while total income grew 10.49% during the review period. However, rising claims and expenses limited the impact of higher premium income on the bottom line.

Net claim payments increased 10.31%, while total expenses rose 10.87% year-on-year.

Sanima Reliance Life’s EPS increased by 13 paisa to Rs. 7.65. Its net worth per share stood at Rs. 112.62, while the company’s P/E ratio was 49.49 times at the end of Ashad.

The company had paid-up capital of Rs. 5.01 arba. It held Rs. 18.59 crore in its catastrophe fund, Rs. 35.98 crore in retained earnings and Rs. 8.68 crore in other equity.

The results show modest profit growth despite stronger premium income, with higher claims and operating expenses absorbing much of the improvement in revenue.
