Purushottam Raj Chimoriya, popularly known as ‘Shiva Chandra’ among investors, has filed his candidacy for the position of Chairperson of the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON).

He formally submitted his application at the Ministry of Finance on Monday.

Chimoriya is widely recognized in the investment community through his social media presence, where he shares stock market analysis and insights via his “Shiva Chandra” Facebook page. His views are particularly popular among new and small investors.

With the growing number of investors in Nepal’s stock market in recent years, his posts have served as guidance for many, as reflected in strong engagement across social media platforms.

Professionally, he previously served as Chief Investment Officer at Asian Capital Limited for around seven years.

His candidacy is expected to spark discussion and interest regarding leadership at Nepal’s capital market regulator.
