Siddhartha Bank Launches ‘Rapid’ API Banking Platform

Siddhartha Bank has launched ‘Rapid,’ an API banking platform designed to connect banks, fintech companies and digital service providers. The platform was officially introduced during Nepal Fintech Expo 2026.

Based on the Banking as a Service (BaaS) concept, Rapid uses Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) to integrate banking services with external software and digital platforms. The bank expects the platform to simplify banking operations for corporate customers by reducing the need to access multiple systems separately.

Through Rapid, businesses can check account balances, download bank statements, manage treasury operations and automate transaction reconciliation directly from their own software or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.

Customers can link their bank accounts through the ‘Connect with API Banking’ option. According to the bank, users need to complete an initial registration process, similar to mobile banking registration, while most subsequent procedures can be handled online.

The platform also digitizes customer consent procedures to make service activation more convenient and transparent. Siddhartha Bank says Rapid incorporates end-to-end encryption, multi-factor authentication and other security protocols to protect customer information and transactions.

Rapid is designed to serve small, medium and large businesses. It aims to make financial management more efficient while strengthening collaboration among banks, fintech companies and digital service providers.
