Stock Market Falls to 2,807 Points; Three Companies Hit 15% Upper Circuit

The Nepal stock market witnessed a decline on Tuesday as the NEPSE index dropped by 18.10 points, closing at 2,807. The market had also declined in the previous trading session.

However, turnover slightly increased today. The total transaction volume reached Rs. 5.77 billion, up from Rs. 5.43 billion in the previous session, according to NEPSE.

Out of total listed companies, 48 recorded gains, 215 declined, while 6 remained unchanged.

Among sub-indices, only the Hotel and Tourism group rose by 1.16%, while all other sectors ended in red. Banking fell 0.45%, Finance 1.09%, Hydropower 1.23%, Investment 0.60%, Life Insurance 0.23%, Manufacturing & Processing 0.53%, Microfinance 0.49%, Non-life Insurance 0.86%, Others 1.27%, and Trading 0.96%.

Three companies hit the 15% upper circuit limit — Palpa Cement, Suryakund Hydro Electric, and Shikhar Power. Corporate Development Bank rose 14.82% and Asian Hydro Power gained 10.38%.

On the losing side, Dolti Power fell 8.71% and Solu Hydro Power declined 5.77%. The most traded stocks included Solu Hydro Power, Reliance Spinning Mills, National Hydro Power, and SY Panel.
