Students have staged a symbolic protest against the government over its alleged failure to effectively address the LPG shortage in Kathmandu Valley. Students affiliated with Akhil (Revolutionary) cooked food using a firewood stove at the entrance of Ratna Rajya Laxmi Campus.

The protest was organized to put pressure on the government to resolve the growing shortage of cooking gas in the market. Student leader Niraj Shrestha said that they had been unable to cook food at home for around two weeks due to the lack of LPG supply.

He demanded that the government arrange food for citizens if cooking gas cannot be made available. He also accused the government of treating both consumers and traders unfairly and called for better coordination with gas traders to ensure distribution to consumers.

The students also urged the government to take action against black marketing and ensure an immediate and smooth supply of LPG to the public.
