Three Indian Nationals Killed in Tanker Attack Near Strait of Hormuz

Three Indian nationals have lost their lives following an attack on an oil tanker near the strategically important Strait of Hormuz, according to Indian authorities.

India's Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal confirmed the deaths of the three sailors after earlier reports indicated that they had gone missing following the incident. The deceased have been identified as Aditya Sharma, Shivanand Chaurasia, and Patnala Suresh.

India's Ministry of External Affairs had initially stated that 21 of the 24 Indian crew members aboard the vessel were safely rescued, while three remained unaccounted for. Their deaths were later confirmed by authorities.

The incident comes amid escalating military tensions between the United States and Iran. Reports indicate that hostilities continued for a second consecutive day, raising concerns about security in one of the world's most critical maritime trade routes.

Iranian media reported explosions in several locations, including Qeshm Island, Bandar Abbas, Minab, and Sirik. In response to the attacks, Iran reportedly targeted U.S. military installations in Kuwait and Bahrain.

The latest developments have intensified concerns over regional stability and the safety of international shipping routes in the Gulf region.
