Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) has introduced a new arrangement allowing vehicles to use the airport's pick-and-drop area free of parking charges for up to 15 minutes.

Previously, vehicles were exempt from parking fees for only seven minutes. Airport authorities decided to extend the duration after receiving feedback that the earlier time limit was insufficient for passengers.

TIA spokesperson Sanjay Kumar said the revised policy aims to improve passenger convenience and streamline airport operations. The new 15-minute free parking facility will initially be implemented on a one-month trial basis.

According to the airport office, any unauthorized collection of parking fees during the designated free period will result in disciplinary action.

Airport officials believe the extended pick-and-drop window will make it easier for travelers and those dropping off or picking up passengers at Nepal’s busiest international airport.
