Upaya's Business Grows 54% in a Year, Workforce Crosses 1,500 with Rapid Nationwide Expansion

Nepal-based logistics company Upaya has reported a 54% year-on-year growth in business during the last fiscal year, attributing the expansion to investments in infrastructure, branch network growth, workforce expansion, and the rapid rise of e-commerce.

Founded in 2020, Upaya provides technology-driven logistics solutions, including transportation, warehousing, fulfillment, and nationwide distribution services for e-commerce businesses, manufacturers, hydropower projects, retailers, and corporate clients.

Workforce and Branch Network Expand Rapidly

The company increased its workforce from around 380 employees to more than 1,500 within a year. It also estimates that its delivery partners, transport operators, and service providers have helped generate over 5,000 indirect employment opportunities.

Upaya has expanded its branch network from 40 locations to more than 400 branches and service centers, with operations now reaching all districts of Nepal and over 5,000 delivery points nationwide.

Daily Delivery Capacity Sees Significant Growth

The company has increased its average daily parcel deliveries from around 1,000 parcels to approximately 15,000 parcels per day. According to Upaya, this growth has been supported by the expansion of e-commerce, onboarding of new corporate clients, fulfillment services, and wider nationwide logistics coverage.

Modern 3PL Warehouse Under Construction

Upaya is currently constructing a 45,000-square-foot state-of-the-art Third-Party Logistics (3PL) warehouse on more than 18 ropanis of land in Sanga, Kavre. The project is expected to be completed within the next six months.

Once operational, the facility will provide integrated logistics services including storage, inventory management, pick-and-pack operations, fulfillment, and nationwide distribution from a single location.

Focus on AI-Powered Logistics

Looking ahead, the company plans to further expand its nationwide logistics network, build additional 3PL warehousing facilities, strengthen fulfillment services, and invest in AI-powered logistics infrastructure.

Company officials said Upaya aims not only to grow its parcel delivery business but also to modernize Nepal's logistics ecosystem through technology, infrastructure investment, and integrated supply chain solutions.
