The United States has imposed new restrictions on nearly $1 billion worth of goods imported from Canada, including alcoholic beverages, dairy products and motorcycles.

The move comes amid ongoing trade tensions between the two countries over tariffs and trade policies. Canada has also imposed retaliatory tariffs on US goods.

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney has said Canada remains prepared for negotiations and wants to establish a mutually beneficial trade arrangement while respecting the sovereignty of both countries.
